Otterly (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a matchmaking application owned and operated by Timpra. By installing or using Otterly, you agree to the handling of your information as described below. If you do not accept these terms, delete the app and stop using the service.
1. Why we collect personal data
- Create and maintain your account
- Show your profile to potential matches (age, gender, interests, location radius, photos, etc.)
- Verify identity and prevent fraud (including selfie verification reviewed by our team)
- Keep the community safe (message screening for harassment, scams and prohibited content)
- Comply with legal obligations
- Improve the app through analytics and bug-fixing
- Send you essential emails, push notifications or SMS about account activity

3. How we share data
- Matches: only the profile elements needed for two users to judge compatibility.
- Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, AI processing for compatibility reads and moderation, payment processors and email delivery — strictly under contract and only as needed.
- Legal requests: when a court or regulator with jurisdiction compels us.
- No sales, ever: we do not sell personal data, and we do not show advertising.
4. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we erase or anonymise most data within 30 days, except data required for legal or financial records, and records needed to enforce bans.
5. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct or download your data using in-app tools, pause your profile, blur your photos, block contacts, and delete your account from Settings. You may withdraw consent for optional permissions (location, contacts, camera) at any time in your device settings, though some features will stop working. Residents of jurisdictions with data protection laws (including India’s DPDP Act, the EU GDPR and UK GDPR) may exercise their statutory rights by emailing us.
6. Children
Otterly is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We remove accounts of anyone found to be under 18.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with reputable cloud providers, and access is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong device passcode and never share OTPs.
8. Changes
We will notify you in the app of material changes to this policy. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
